Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of CoughCare. Please read them before you start. Tapping "Agree and continue", or using the service, means you accept them.
1. The service
CoughCare is a health-logging aid for parents. It provides:
- Night monitoring: short audio clips when a cough is likely;
- Morning review: you listen and tag the cough type and sound;
- Manual logging: coughs, symptoms and medication, plus backfilling past days;
- Trends and episode progress;
- Visit summary: your records as one page for the doctor;
- Care tips, soothing recipes and cough-sound guidance.
2. Access codes
- Some or all features require an activation code or an account-level access check.
- Codes may be issued by us or by our distribution partners. A code is single-use and needs to be validated once per account.
- Do not publish, resell or mass-generate codes. You are responsible for losses caused by doing so.
- This website does not sell codes and makes no price commitment. How to obtain one depends on your channel.
3. Accounts
- Sign in with a phone number or email address; set a password if you wish.
- Keep your credentials and verification codes secure, and provide accurate registration details.
- An account is for the guardian's own use and may not be transferred, lent or sold.
- Tell us immediately if you believe your account is being used by someone else.
4. Guardian responsibilities
- The service is for guardians. Children's information is provided by the guardian, who consents to its processing under the Privacy Policy and the Children's Privacy Notice.
- Do not enter sensitive information unrelated to the service (such as ID numbers or home address).
- Use a nickname rather than the child's real name where possible.
5. Medical disclaimer (important)
CoughCare is not a medical device and does not diagnose or treat.
Cough tags, differentiation guidance, care tips and recipes are generated from your input and general health information and are for reference only. They do not replace an examination by a clinician.
Call a doctor right away — do not wait for records or suggestions — if your child is breathing fast or working hard, if the skin pulls in between the ribs, if the lips look blue, if the cough is barking with noisy breathing, if they are drowsy or hard to wake, or if a baby under three months has a fever.
6. Acceptable use
You must not use the service to:
- break any law or regulation;
- reverse engineer, crack, tamper with or bypass access checks;
- register in bulk, harvest codes or scrape data automatically;
- disrupt the service or place an unreasonable load on our servers.
We may suspend or terminate access if these rules are broken.
7. Records and backups
- Accuracy depends on your review and input; we cannot guarantee the records match the child's condition exactly.
- Syncing depends on the network. Confirm sync before changing devices to avoid losing records.
- Deleting a record or account is irreversible.
8. Intellectual property
- The software, interface, icons, copy and health content belong to CoughCare.
- You own the records you enter; you grant us the limited licence needed to store, transmit and display them in order to run the service.
- No part of the service may be used commercially or redistributed without written permission.
9. Changes, interruption and termination
- We may change the service for improvements, maintenance or compliance, and will announce material changes in the app or on this page.
- We are not liable for indirect losses caused by interruptions from force majeure, network or cloud-provider failures, though we will work to restore service.
- You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time.
10. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect losses arising from the use of, or inability to use, the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Updates to these terms
Updated terms carry a new version number and effective date on this page. If a change materially affects your rights, we will ask for your consent again in the app.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China. Disputes will first be discussed in good faith; otherwise they may be brought before the competent court at the defendant's domicile.
